Anoraks are making a comeback. They’re functional and stylish at the same time. Add a few gold accessories to make it more chic than sporty.Via Ol Green Eyes

We love this outfit idea by Ol Green Eyes. The pop of red and tan will cozy up any dark outfit.

Delicious Eggnog Latte Recipe

The holiday season may be over, but this doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy our favorite holiday drinks! A popular drink for the holidays (beside the famous Pumpkin Spice Latte we posted about last year) is the eggnog latte. This yummy drink is served during the cold winter months, and perfect for the chilly January.

This drink is actually easier to make than you think! We’re going to share with you a quick and simple recipe to make at home. It may not be as fancy as ones from a coffee shop, but it is equally as delicious!

Image via BU Culture Shock

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup eggnog
  • 1-1/2 oz of brewed espresso (depending on how strong you want your latte)
  • ground nutmeg (fresh preferred) for garnish and tasting
  • whipped cream

Brew the espresso, and set it aside in a cup. In a saucepan, heat up the milk and eggnog on low-medium heat. Once it reaches a slow boil, remove from heat and pour it into the cup. (Be careful, it’s piping hot!) When you are ready to serve, top with a generous helping of whipped cream and sprinkle on some nutmeg on top to taste and garnish.

It’s as simple as that! Enjoy this cozy drink by the fireplace, and don’t forget to invite friends and family! We hope everyone will enjoy this quick recipe. Adjust it in any way you want to personalize it to your taste!

Frosty Blue Macarons for Winter

Back in December, we posted a few of our favorite Christmas holiday themed macarons (click here for post and more info about this trendy cookie). The post was  popular among our readers, so we decided to share more holiday macarons with everyone! Instead of Christmas themed Santas and reindeers, we’re going with blue–for winter!

Blue is perfect for winter macarons because of it’s frosty, snowy appearance.  Here are a few of our favorites!

Cozy Up Your Home For the Winter Season

Groundhog Day is a coming up soon, but we still have at least a month left of winter (unless Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow and goes back in the burrow–then 6 MORE weeks of winter)!

Though we live in Southern California, our homes can still get chilly and cold. Recently, we’ve started to research some inspiration pictures to make our home more cozy and warm for the winter season. We found a few ideas that we’re definitely going to try this month, and we’re going to share them with you today!

Via House and Home

Store an abundance of soft throws around the home for a quick warm-up blanket at arm’s reach.

Via Activerain

Candles instantly cozy up the decor in your home with a warm inviting glow if you don’t have a fireplace.

Via Centsational Girl

Have hardwood floors? Large area rugs can add color and warmth to the ground beneath our feet.

Via House and Home

Don’t be afraid to go darker for the winter season. Try a dark blue wall like above.

Via Brides

Bring the outdoors inside with natural foliage and animal figurines.

We hope these ideas can inspire you to cozy up your home for the next few weeks of winter. Make sure you stay warm yourself as well! If you have any other home decor ideas you’d like for us to share with you, please let us know below!

  • peanut butter cookies (Nutterbutters) or peanut shaped cookies
  • white candy melts or white chocolate chips
  • candy sprinkles and candy
  • different colors of icing for decorating

Melt the candy melts or chocolate chips over a double boiler. Dip the peanut cookies into in melted candies and leave out on a wax paper covered rack to dry. For more information about the images, please refer to the attached link.

There are many other ways to turn your peanut butter crackers into winter snacks! If you’re interested, let us know and we’ll share a few more ideas in the upcoming posts!

Chic Holiday Sweaters for Winter

What is one thing that is on everyone’s Christmas list for the holidays? Cozy holiday sweaters! Holiday sweaters are preferred over regular sweaters for the holiday season, so grab your own before they’re all gone!

I’m sure many of you know that there is a very fine line for a holiday sweater to go from cozy to ugly. We’re going to show you some options that are definitely gorgeous and chic! Now, you have no more excuse to sport an ugly Christmas sweater for the holidays (unless you want to)!

From Focus on Style/Asos

From Details

From Pinmarklet/Free People

From Fashion Indie/Asos

These sweaters can easily be paired with slim fit bottom (skinny jeans or leggings) to complete the holiday look. Find a longer fit (shorter sweaters can make you look frumpy). Don’t be afraid of color during the holidays, and add a jacket if you’re going outdoors.

Will you be sporting a holiday sweater this winter? Let us know in the comments below! If you have any pictures, be sure to share it with us too! We love holiday sweaters, and can’t wait to keep wearing them all through December and January!
