So let’s all grab a bucket of popcorn, drinks, and a cozy blanket for a fun filled movie session. Here are some great movies to watch with mom on Mother’s Day!

As we’ve mentioned before, when spring starts, we all start heading outdoors. While it may all be fun and games, outdoor activities require more preparation. Hydration and sun protection are a must, but what else should we bring?
If you’re going to be spending long hours away from home, it’s always a good idea to also pack a little something to eat. One of our favorite snacks to bring is trail mix. They are usually a mix of sweet and savory–a quick pick-me-up for any type of mood. It’s a lot more affordable to make your own trail mix instead of buying store bought ones.

Don’t know what to put in your own homemade trail mix? Here are a few ideas:
- sunflower seeds
- coconut flakes
- banana chips
- mini chocolate chips
- dried cherries
- pumpkin seeds
- ground cinnamon (for flavor)
Toss them all in a reusable box or sandwichbag, and you have your own trail mix, perfect for on the go activities. The perfect thing about trail mix is you can customize to your liking. Don’t like almonds? Substitute it with another type of nut! Just be sure to get a good mix in!

Grab friends and family, and then head to a theme park! Spring has the perfect weather for long daytime activities outside. Remember the sunblock and water!
Take a road trip! We may not all be able to take a long vacation, but it’s definitely doable to take weekend trips to a nearby city.

Plant a garden for homegrown herbs and spices! This short activity can be started in a day, but the rewards can be gathered all season long.

This may not be the funniest activity, but springtime calls for spring cleaning! Clean up your closet and donate clothes to the needy. Not only will you be helping the community, but your home will be less cluttered.
Speaking of helping the community, you can also volunteer at community centers in your town. All you need is one afternoon to make a difference. There are many ways to help the community, so find an activity you enjoy!
