While heading out of the house this morning, we noticed that a nearby school is back to its lively self. That only means one thing: the kids are back to school! Though the official last day of summer is September 21, 2013, we like to celebrate the kids going back to school with a fun end of summer activity.
One thing we had a lot of fun doing in the summer is having a movie night, so to celebrate the end of summer, how about one last late night movie session for the year! Keep reading for ideas to turn a regular movie night into an event to remember for the rest of the school year!

We’re reaching the end of our back to school themed posts! Though we’re sad that we’re going to have to wait a whole year to blog more about back to school, we’re still excited to share a few more ideas with everyone before we pack away our school supplies.
Back in elementary school, I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up because I loved drawing on the chalkboard. Fast forward (many, many) years later, and the obsession is still ever so present. There’s just something about the chalkboard that brings back so many memories! So in today’s post, we’re dedicating it to chalkboard themed ideas that are perfect for back to school!

Recently, we’ve posted a few decor trends for the summer that we love (pastels, rainbow, and neon just to name a few)! But we felt we needed to include a few of our favorite color combos that we’re also loving for summer 2013.
To be honest, we were inspired to write this post from a watermelon. What better fruit for the summer than watermelon! However, the colors of a watermelon (red and green) can look a little Christmas-y, which is we we chose the toned down versions of the colors, coral and mint, to be our favorite summer color combo for this year! Keep reading for some fun ways to incorporate these two colors into your summer!

We came across a lot of cute ideas this summer while we were blogging and Pinterest-ing (check out our Pinterest for holiday ideas year round!), and one idea that caught our eye time and time again is a fun treat that we personally like to call a teddy beach party in a cup!

We have to admit, we are pretty lucky living on the west coast. We’re driving distance from the beach! Though we don’t go to the beach as much as we’d like (we only went once this summer!), we love everything about being by the water.
This is what inspired us to blog about beach themed food ideas today! If we can’t be by the beach all the time, we can at least pretend, right? If you’re like us and love being on the beach too, keep reading for ideas and inspiration to recreate your own little beach at home with cute food!
