3 Item Ideas to Decorate Your Porch for Spring

What are some of the first things you see when you approach your home? After the standard driveway, perhaps a lawn/yard, there is your porch. Though this part of the home can easily be overlooked, we shouldn’t! Decorating the porch is a great way to set the home decor tone for the rest of the house.

For all you seasonal decorators out there, this is probably a no brainer! But for those of us who are new to porch decorating, here are 3 items you can try to pick up/DIY for the spring.

Entrance floor mat – We all probably already have one, and didn’t put much thought into picking it out. It’s just a mat to dust off the dirt from our shoes! However, all your guests will be making a stop there before entering the house, so why not choose one full of spring colors! We love this one we found on Makezine blog and Lowes.

Planters – If you’re going to plant blooms on your porch, transfer them out of the plastic pot into a planter. You can add one to the railing of your porch, hanging from the ceiling, or just on the floor. It is a great way to add more spring flair to your porch.  You can switch into various colors to match the season. They come in so many shapes, colors, sizes, and patterns! Check out this one from Apartment Therapy!

Address numbers – Another way to decorate your porch for spring is to decorate your house address numbers! If you can, try a new font or color to match the spring decor in your home. This beautiful mosaic via It’s Better Handmade is colorful and fun for the springtime.

  1. These are all so cute! And you are so right that the entrance sets the tone for welcoming guests into the rest of your home!

  2. The floormat is cute, but I love the cute little rainboots next to it! How springy!
