Autumn Acorn Jewelry

Now that Halloween is over, we can officially say we have transitioned into Autumn!

What are some things that are reminiscent of Autumn? Let’s do a little brainstorm:

  • falling leaves
  • cooler weather
  • warm colors (red, yellow, orange)
  • pumpkins
  • cinnamon
  • spices
  • coziness
  • s’mores
  • apple picking
  • corn mazes
  • hayrides
  • acorns

For the days leading up to Thanksgiving, this blog will be dedicated to the Autumn months! Coming up will be cool craft ideas, fun Autumn facts, and yummy recipes. How does that sound? Let us know what kind of posts you would like to see more of for Autumn!

To start off, how about a little craft project?

Acorns are abundant in Autumn. What can we do with all the acorns that don’t get picked up by hungry squirrels? We can collect them to make fun acorn jewelry!

Supplies:

  • acorn (cleaned)
  • a string
  • permanent markers or paints
  • scissors

After you gathered your acorns, clean them thoroughly with water.  With a permanent marker or paints, draw on a pattern or a face onto the acorn. Let dry. When you are done designing your acorn, tie a string onto to the stem of the acorn. You can wear your acorn as a necklace or a bracelet! Children can also tie it to their backpack as a fun Autumn keychain!

You can decorate it however you like. Like glitter? Add glitter! The possibilities are endless!

What are some other uses for acorns? Share with us in the comments! We would love more project ideas!
