Popular Halloween Costume Ideas of 2011

6 more days until Halloween!

Halloween costumes evolve from year to year. Princess costumes will be popular one year, and the next year will be cartoon characters. How are we supposed to keep up with all the Halloween costume trends? According to Mainstreet.com, there are quite a few new trendy Halloween costumes that will be popular this year. Let me share some with everyone!

  • Zombies

Remember how popular vampires were the past few years due to the Twilight saga? Well this year’s trend is definitely zombies. A popular zombie show, The Walking Dead, has made zombies more popular than ever! Zombie costumes are super easy to create as well. A few face paints and fake blood packets and you’re ready to go!

  • Mad Men

Costumes are often  inspired by popular tv shows, and this year is no different. Mad Men is a popular tv show where the characters dress up in traditional 1960’s outfits. This will definitely be one of the most stylish costumes you will ever put on.

  • Superheroes

Superheroes have been popular costumes choices since as long as I can remember. But behind us are the days when the only superhero costume options were Superman and Batman. With all the new superhero movies coming out, expect superhero costumes such as the Green Lantern and Captain America to make appearances.

  • The Black Swan

The Black Swan was a psychological suspense movie that made its way to the silver screen in the beginning of 2011. The Black Swan costume is extremely easy to recreate. A leotard, tutu, and feathers will suffice for the apparel portion, and a little bit of creative makeup will complete the look!

Don’t be caught wearing the same old witch costume again! With so many options to choose from, there is bound to be one that fits your personality. Let us know in the comments below what your Halloween 2011 costume will be!
