Pumpkin Series: Pumpkin Body Butter

Let’s take a break from all the pumpkin recipes and try out a DIY beauty treatment to conclude our pumpkin series! We found a formula to concoct a pumpkin body butter to pamper your and skin body from Care2. It is said that “Pumpkin puree has enzymes and antioxidants that offer results similar to gentle alpha-hydroxy action: It removes dead dull cells, while its beta-carotene-rich antioxidants nourish your skin.”

  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree, preferably organic
  • 1/2 cup solids from a can of coconut milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and slather the body butter onto your skin for a luscious treatment. Leave on the skin for 10 minutes, rinse off, then pat dry.

You can also substitute the 1/2 cup solids from a can of coconut milk with coconut oil if you have some handy. Coconut oil is very beneficial to our bodies. Not only that, it is also an extremely moisturizing agent. It has a shelf life of around 2 years! At room temperature, it is a liquid, but under 76 degrees F it is a solid–perfect for a body butter!

This concludes the Halloween pumpkin series! Stay tuned next week for more holiday decorating tips!

  1. I really like this recipe. I love pumpkin pie, now I can smell like one! I’m going to try this this fall.
